iPhone Anamorphic Lens Lets You Shoot Wider Than Widescreen

iPhone Anamorphic Lens Lets You Shoot Wider Than Widescreen

Even though 35mm film dominated the film industry for years and years, the majority of movies released to theaters were much wider than the stock's 4:3 aspect ratio. But instead of sacrificing resolution and simply cropping off the top and bottom of a frame to make it widescreen, filmmakers used special lenses that squeezed a wider vista onto the 35mm film stock, and then unsqueezed the images when they were being projected. They were known as anamorphic lenses, and soon you'll be able to get one for your iPhone.
What looks like one of the many external lenses you can get for your smartphone is actually one of the first to do an anamorphic squeeze on your footage, letting you shoot video that's approximately 33 percent wider than the iPhone's standard field of vision.

So if you're shooting video in an old-school 4:3 aspect ratio, when the footage was unsqueezed in your video editor it would have a wider 16:9 vista. And if you're shooting in 16:9 to start with, the resulting footage would have an even wider and more majestic 2.4:1 aspect ratio. For still images the iPhone's panoramic mode easily accomplishes this, but this is currently the only way to pull it off for video.
The anamorphic adapter lens is currently raising funds on Kickstarter, and with a pledge of $85 or more you can claim one of the first production units when they're available sometime closer to March of next year. In the meantime, you'll have to keep stomaching the limited 16:9 videos you can shoot with your phone, or go out and buy yourself a proper 35mm movie camera. [Kickstarter via DPReview]

iPhone 6 Release Date,Full Specifications-whats new

Posted on 13:01 by Unknown
Apple has been busy this year as it has introduces two new Smartphones recently iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. They also made available iOS 7 on Wednesday 18th. When iOS 7 was released to the public on Wednesday many users has faced issues with downloading and many had problems getting the new upgrade onto their iPhone 5 smartphones, they waited still thinking that Apple server would has been very busy indeed.
iphone 6 release date
As now IPhone 5s and 5c are available to public now where Apple can go with IPhone 6 iOs 8. The iPhone 6 has added more color than 5S and 5C with change in its design.

iPhone 6 Release Date

According to rumor It’s clear, given that the iPhone 5S was only released in September, that we’re not going to see the iPhone 6 until 2014 now. Apple usually has introduced its model every year with newly added features, Tim Cook has hinted at new products coming soon autumn launch, call from investors says that “Our teams are hard at work on some amazing new hardware, software, and services that we can’t wait to introduce this fall and throughout 2014,” Cook said.
As we know now, the products, Cook was talking about are being released on the 22nd October and include the iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2. But it seems to be just a rumor as we don`t know what`s the actual date.

iPhone 6 Screen

It is safe to assume that iPhone 6 will be having bigger screen, Most of the rumors are that the iPhone 6 will have a 4.8inch screen, which will make the phone`s screen to the size of Samsung S4 and HTC One. So to beat that old tradition of screen Apple would go to full HD or may go beyond that. It’s no wonder that Apple may also be considering the screen technology that uses Sharp IGZO (Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide) screen top of the list.
This new technology allows for screens that use less power and are considerably thinner. Rumors certainly picked up when the Sharp IGZO technology was demonstrated at CES 2013.

iPhone 6 Camera

For the iPhone 5S Apple used the physical size of 8-megapixel sensor means that each pixel gets lighter. In addition to it, they upgraded the lens from the f/2.4 model to the f/2.2 model, increasing low-light performance again. The camera is going to have couple of neat modes, even including a 10fps burst mode that goes on until the phone’s memory is full, and a 120fps slow-motion mode.

iPhone 6 Battery

As the size of screen increases compared to other older versions, the uses of battery increases, so it is hard to safe the battery life., So Apple has to plan further to increase the battery life of the device which can consume less power and give better performance which can pave a path to many buyers compared to ancestors of iPhone 6.

Galaxy S5 rumors, the Snapdragon 805 chip, and will the iPhone 6 have a larger screen? Weekly news round-up

Posted on 12:04 by Unknown
Galaxy S5 rumors, the Snapdragon 805 chip, and will the iPhone 6 have a larger screen? Weekly news round-upQualcomm – the company behind the Snapdragon SoCs powering many of today's smartphones – made an exciting announcement last week. The new Snapdragon 805 is now official, packing even more processing power with its four Krait 450 cores and enough graphics performance to drive displays with up to 4K resolution. While we know nothing as to what smartphones might be powered by the new chip, we're guessing that we might one day see a Samsung Galaxy S5 model with one of these under the hood. After all Samsung will need something capable of handling the smartphone's (rumored) 2560 x 1440 pixel display. In Apple news, (or should we say Apple rumors) there's a wild rumor out there, claiming that Apple is testing an iPhone 6 with a 4.9-inch display. It might be untrue, of course, but then again, you never know what Apple has in stock for us. Speaking of Apple, the tech giant might be working on a larger, 12-inch-or-so iPad built with professional applications in mind. However, that's also a rumor that is not well backed by any solid evidence at this time.

Galaxy S5 might sport a 5"+ 2560x1440 AMOLED screen, leaked Samsung Display CEO presentation hints

We heard through the grapevine during Samsung's Analyst Day not long ago that the company might be releasing a 560ppi mobile display next year, which we immediately thought would be a perfect fit for a flagship phone like the Galaxy S5 or even an eventual Note 4.

There were no reporters allowed during the Analyst Day presentations given by Samsung head honchos, so most of the rumors what's in the pipeline were hearsay from Korean analysts that were present at the events. Now, however, we have the whole presentation of Samsung Display's CEO Kinam Kim leaking out, and on slide number 11 below 2014 is clearly marked as the year Samsung will reach 560ppi phone displays, and of the Super AMOLED variety at that.

Next up in the lofty goals is making such displays with plastic substrate, like on the Galaxy Round, but mass producing such panels is probably some time off still. Nevertheless, a 560ppi AMOLED screen on the Galaxy S5 would be pretty amazing, as it would mean resolutions in the 2600x1440 pixels ballpark at a 5.3" size. That's roughly the so-called WQHD resolution that you see mentioned in one of the slides as ready for next year, whose standard is exactly a 2560x1440 resolution, or 3.7 million pixels at your disposal on a small phone screen, pretty crazy.

Not that we have any problem with the current Full HD 1080p screens, but if the new panels also sport some fancy new energy-saving tech like during the jump from 720p to 1080p screens, we are all for it. In any case, this is just speculation at this point, though we doubt that if Samsung has heard plans for 2600x1440ppi smartphone screens from competitors, it will leave next year's flagships to chance.

Meanwhile, Samsung has some great plans for bendable, foldable, and even stretchable displays going forward, on anything from wearables, through cars, to fashion even. The whole presentation can be found at the source link, but take a look below at the handpicked slides from it, which refer to mobile displays, and marvel at what's ahead. In any case, it looks like Vivo's Xplay 3S phone might hit the market with a WQHD display first, but it won't be the only one for long.
