IFA 2013 has just started, and the first company to announce new technology goodies is Sony. The company has unveiled their new flagship smartphone, the Sony Xperia Z1, codenamed Honami. The device is built around its top of the line camera, but also has some other specs that impress.
The Sony Xperia Z1, like other newly released devices, has seen its fair share of leaks, so we had a good idea of how the device would look and what specs it would score. Nevertheless, Sony has now officially announced the device and it comes with some really appealing feature to Sony fans and not only.

Thus, the camera of the device is state of the art, which is what we would expect from Sony. If you want to know all the specs of the device, here is a list of what the Sony Xperia Z1 will have under its hood:

The device has lots of power to give, and with its beefy battery, it will be capable of working for a pretty long time on a single charge. Also, the casing of the device is made from a single block of aluminium. While the casing is premium, it does make the device pretty heavy, at 170 grams. The dimensions of the Sony Xperia Z1 are 144 x 74 x 8.5mm, and thanks to the material that it is made of, the smartphone is completely waterproof.

Other Features of the Sony Xperia Z1

The device is also a social beast. Thanks to its BIONZ for mobile image processing engine, G Lens and a 1/2.3-inch camera sensor, the device can shoot stunning video and take near perfect images that they can stream live to Facebook with the Social life feature.

Also, an important part of the device is its cloud capabilities. The Sony Xperia Z1 will be able to save all your photos in Sony’s PlayMemories Online, so you can access them from any device. This service is available in some countries now, but Sony hopes to have it up and ready in the near future. Right now, you can use this service in Germany, France, the UK, the US, Canada, and Japan.
Sony has made the Xperia Z1 compatible with camera attachments. The QX attachments will be able to attach to your smartphone and it will give you imaging results that are close to digital cameras. The Qz 10 and the Qx 100 attachments will be able to work on any smartphone. They will connect with the device via WiFi.
The QX 100 will score a 20 MP, 1-inch sensor with 3.6x zoom and a ISO value of 6400, and it will retail for $499 at the end of September. The QX 10 will be the cheaper alternative, at $250, but it will offer better zoom capabilities, up to 10x, but it will have a slightly lower image quality, due to its 1/2.3-inch sensor and the maximum ISO value of 3200.
